Finally Heard and Helped!

I am happy to share my experience with BeWell. I was having GI problems, insomnia, chronic UTI/ kidney issues along with a full-blown case of Menopause/ hormonal imbalances. Family Doctor and Urologist couldn’t/ didn’t help me. However, with updated labs obtained through BeWell, along with their guidance with supplements and diet, I have been able to share my results with my OBGYN and together they came up with a plan to help me get back to me! If you feel like you’re not being heard or helped, I would highly recommend BeWell and its services.

Significant Improvements

After five months working with the BeWell team, I have experienced significant improvements in my overall well-being. I came to my initial appointment with a variety of ailments including brain fog, anxiety, and fatigue. Laura was able to suggest a few supplements based on my symptoms before diving deeper into the roots of my issues to build a customized plan. I was honestly surprised at how quickly I began to feel better. Every aspect of my plan was thoroughly communicated to me in a way that I could understand and was given constant support and feedback on my progress.

Scheduling, meetings, and checkout procedure are seamless. Team members are at the height of professionalism. I Highly recommend BeWell Associates to anyone looking for a natural approach to their health.

Excellent Customer Service Sets BeWell Apart

I just wanted to let you know that [Office Manager] Lydia provides excellent customer service. She is efficient, pleasant, and helpful. I know this must be a busy time with the supplement sale going on but she was excellent. That’s one of the main things I like about your business – when you call you get to talk to a real person who knows you and cares about you.

Thanks for all you do.

Weight Loss and Great Numbers!

Thank you for helping me get on the right road and getting my body to function properly. As of now, I am down 31 pounds and feel much better. Knowing what to eat and when to eat it has made it much easier, and I am never hungry. Thanks again for helping me not become a statistic as a diabetic. It takes some work, but I think it is better than finger pricks, prescription meds, or insulin shots. I’m happy with my recent numbers and my doctor is also. My A1C is down from 6.6 to 5.7, just .1 away from “normal,” total cholesterol down from 193 to 137, triglycerides down from 123 to 65, LDL down from 124 to 79, and my risk of stroke/heart attack went from 4.39 to 3.04, considered “low.” Thanks, Monica!

From Skeptical To Believer

I was skeptical about calling BeWell because I thought that I would have to make hard changes to my diet and lifestyle. My daughter convinced me to call because she did not want me on a lot of medications. I am so glad I made that call. The changes have been easy. The BeWell Team are so knowledgeable and so helpful. I am feeling better than I have in years. I am off my reflux medicine, I am making better and healthier eating choices, I have the energy to exercise, and I walk every day. I have no inflammation, no bloating, no aches and pains. I have lost ten pounds. I don’t miss bread or dairy at all! I would recommend BeWell to anyone!

Help For Pain And Food Allergies

I have lived for many years with pain and food allergy issues. Recently I was told that I have autoimmune problems, but with no answers to my question – why? Doctors just wanted to give me prescription medicines to deal with the pain. I didn’t want to go down that road of constantly taking prescriptions that only mask the problem. I know that there has to be a reason that my body is being affected the way it is. I am glad that I have found BeWell Associates to try to help me figure out all of my food allergies and health issues. Only one blood test will check for 90 different food allergies – this amazes me! So I went for the blood test, and am now awaiting the results to come back. I’m trying to have patience as I await these results. I have already noticed a difference in my health and pain issues just by cutting out some things that they advised me to stop eating. So I’m grateful for the improvements to date and look forward to knowing more in the future. Thank you BeWell!

🥭 It’s finally spring, which means FRESH PRODUCE!
⠀
😷 But in our modern world of pesticides, chemical cleaners, and artificial additives, it’s important to stay informed and buy safe options.
 ⠀
🔬Every spring, the Environmental Working Group analyzes the latest fruit and vegetable testing data from the Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration.
⠀
📝Then, a list of the 12 fruits and vegetables MOST contaminated with pesticides is published. They call this list “the Dirty Dozen.”
⠀
This year, to create the 2024 Dirty Dozen list, data from 47,510 samples of 46 types of fruits and vegetables was analyzed!
⠀
Here’s the Dirty Dozen for 2024:
1️⃣ Strawberries 🍓
2️⃣ Spinach 🌱
3️⃣ Kale/collage/mustard greens 🥬
4️⃣ Grapes 🍇
5️⃣ Peaches 🍑
6️⃣ Pears 🍐
7️⃣Nectarines 🍑
8️⃣ Apples 🍎
9️⃣ Bell & hot peppers 🫑 🌶️
🔟 Cherries 🍒
1️⃣1️⃣ Blueberries 🫐
1️⃣2️⃣Green beans 🫛
⠀
^^^ Every one of the dirty dozen had at least 1 sample with at least 13 pesticides, some with as many as 23!
⠀
So what are you to do when so many of your favorites are on the Dirty Dozen list?
✅Shop organic whenever possible!
✅^^^ Purchasing from the frozen section makes this much more affordable, plus the produce is shelf stable when produce! No more throwing away wilted spinach!
✅Stay tuned this week for more information on how to shop and stay safe with the Dirty Dozen!
Could your diet soda contribute to depression?
⠀
A study published in JAMA in 2023 analyzed data was collected from the Nurses’ Health Study II between 2003 and 2017 that included 31, 712 females, aged 42 to 62 years.
⠀
🌭🍟🍭Researchers concluded that greater intake of ultra processed foods is associated with increased risk of depression.
⠀
🥤What’s particularly interesting, is that artificial sweeteners and artificially sweetened beverages had the greatest association with depression!
⠀
According to the lead investigator, Andrew Chan, “Animal studies have shown that artificial sweeteners may trigger the transmission of particular signaling molecules in the brain that are important for mood.”
⠀
🔬Moreover, previous research has shown that artificial sweeteners may trigger what is known as the “inflammatory cytokine model of depression.”
⠀
🦠This is when artificial sweeteners disrupt the gut microbiome and trigger inflammation, which in turn causes depression.
⠀
This model is thought to account for at least half of depression cases!

😋Ever wondered why you suddenly get those intense cravings for specific foods? Cravings aren’t just random urges or signs of weakness. They're your body’s way of sending important messages, nudging you towards maintaining a healthy balance.
⠀
Here are 5 causes of cravings beyond just low blood sugar:
⠀
1️⃣ Emotional Rollercoaster
Between work, home, and social life, many people feel stressed, bored, or unfulfilled. Emotional eating might be the driving force behind cravings. Sometimes, we reach for snacks not because we're hungry, but for entertainment, a dopamine hit, and immediate comfort.
⠀
2️⃣ Dehydration
Ever felt hungry, only to realize you were actually just thirsty? Dehydration can trick your body into thinking it needs food when all it really needs is a big gulp of water. Next time you feel a craving coming on, try reaching for a glass of water first.
⠀
3️⃣ History & Patterns
Oftentimes, cravings come from foods we’ve recently eaten, or foods from our childhood. Our brain expects certain flavors and textures. So if we have a history of hyper-sweet, salty, or fatty foods, the brain will crave MORE! A clever way to satisfy these cravings is to eat a healthier version of your recent and childhood foods.
⠀
4️⃣ Seasonal.
Believe it or not, your body might start hankering for certain foods based on the time of year. Think fresh salads in the spring, refreshing fruits in the summer, hearty stews in the fall, and heavy foodslike meat, oil, and fat in the winter (think Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners).
⠀
5️⃣ Lack of nutrients.
If the body has inadequate nutrients, it’ll produce odd cravings. For example, inadequate mineral levels trigger salt cravings, chocolate cravings can be a sign of magnesium need, and overall inadequate nutrition leads to cravings for temporary sources of energy, like caffeine or added sugar.
⠀
The next time you feel a craving creeping up on you, take a moment to deconstruct it. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you, and make choices that nourish both your body and your soul.

Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, springtime is when gallbladder and liver energy are at their height?
⠀
Consequently, if there is an imbalance in these organs, symptoms are more likely to occur in the spring season! Well yesterday was the spring equinox so liver & gallbladder season is officially upon us!
⠀
If you have a personal history or family history of liver disorders, gallstones, gallbladder removal, or any other biliary issues, now is a good time to talk to your BeWell clinician for personalized nutrition and supplement advice!
⠀
Here are some easy therapies that are safe for most everyone:
🛌 It's helpful to sleep on the left side as it takes pressure off the GB (better for reflux too)
💧 Proper hydration is key, since the bile can actually dry out and congeal, blocking the ducts.
❤️‍🩹 Castor Oil Packs are an excellent palliative treatment, soothing and helpful in getting the bile thinned and moving
