Estronex
(Metametrix) - measures the balance of anti-and pro- carcinogenic metabolites of estrogen, estrone and estriol. If the ratio is too low, the use of foods or supplements containing 13C and DIM can stimulate better liver clearance of harmful estrogens and increase the favorable form of estrogen.
Adrenal Stress Profile
(Diagnos-Tecs) - uses non-invasive saliva collection to monitor the activity of the adrenal cortex and its ability to respond to stress. The procedure monitors the circadian variation of cortisol and the DHEA level in a 24 hour period. Also measured in this profile is fasting and post-prandial insulin response and secretory IgA and gliadin (gluten) antibodies. Through dietary changes, exercise and supplements, and attention to managing one’s energy, the adrenal glands can be restored to balance.
Food Allergies
(Metagenics) - This is a simple Blood Spot test that the client can collect at home and measures the IgG antibodies for 30 of the most common food antigens. Complete Food Allergy test is also available and requires a lab to draw blood. It measures 90 most common allergens. If IgE antibodies are suspected, a blood draw is required for the same 30 top antigens that are tested in the Bloodspot test.
Organix
(Metagenics) (urine organic acids) - provides a view into the body’s metabolic processes and the efficiency of metabolic function. Identifying metabolic blocks that that can be treated nutritionally allows individual tailoring of interventions that can optimize client outcome.
Organic acids are metabolic intermediates that are produced in pathways of central energy production, detoxification, neurotransmitter breakdown, or intestinal microbial activity. Marked accumulation of specific organic acids detected in urine signals a metabolic inhibition or block. The metabolic block may be due to nutrient deficiency, inherited enzyme deficit, toxic build-up, or drug effect. Several of the markers are analytes of intestinal yeast or bacterial overgrowth.
Bone Resorption
(Diagnos-Techs) - measures the breakdown metabolites of bone and cartilage to assess whether one is building or lowing bone at any given time. This assessment allows course corrections of nutrition programs to assure a net gain of bone mass by future bone scans.
